our company has naming format for location id in quants

for example

CP/(name company)

CD/(name company)

I mistakenly fill the location id. it should be "CP", not "CP"

I want to edit the location id but the form not showed up

I want to edit by exporting and importing again. but I get "Quant's editing is restricted, you can't do this operation"

any help?

for future user who happen to have the same issue, here is solution that I accidentally found

click pencil icon of the stock.quant, change the "On hand quantity" to 0, apply, go back

click pencil icon that you want to "remove".

this will trigger a function that unlink the stock quants because the quantity on hand is 0

now you can input the fixed data

I can't find a way to edit the record. So this is my solution

Hi Dimas,
It's great that you found the solution.

If you are using FIFO or AVCO and activated the automated inventory valuation.

One thing to add is that you must make sure your accounting inventory is align with your process to update the quantity in this way. Make sure you do required adjustment to ensure your accounting report is align.

Another solution you can actually try is to create an internal transfer to transfer from CP to CD or vice-versa.
It will fix your stocks. just put note that is not a real case but a workaround solution for your stock just like how Ray Carnes (ray) suggested.

Move them out of the wrong location and into the right location.
