Hi all.


I am using the surveys in Odoo 17 and one day the error 500 appeared unexpectedly, and it says like this.

I have a backup of the database but it is from 2 months ago, if I restore this backup the surveys work correctly, but it is an old backup and I cannot use it, I restored the backup in another DB and I was comparing some tables but I did not find anything different, has anyone had the same experience or could guide me on how to solve this problem

It looks like the 500 error comes from a syntax issue in your survey.layout view. Usually, this happens if a customization added a small mistake in the XML.

A quick way to fix it: go to Settings → Technical → Views, find survey.layout, and check any custom versions for missing quotes or braces. You can also compare it with a working backup. After fixing, restart Odoo to clear the cache.

That usually resolves this kind of issue.

Thank you so much, i was able to solve the issue, following the path you indicated to see the view configuration, click on the gear, compare and reset, restore the previous version (soft reset)

The error occurs because the survey.layout QWeb template in your database contains invalid XML syntax, usually introduced by a customization or corrupted record. Since your older backup works correctly, the issue likely comes from a change made through Odoo Studio, a custom module, or manual edits in the website builder that modified the survey layout.


To fix it, enable Developer Mode and go to Settings → Technical → User Interface → Views. Search for survey.layout and review any customized or inherited versions. Look for syntax problems around the lines with t-attf-class, t-att-style, or t-att-class, such as missing braces, quotes, or undefined variables. If you find a broken customization, disable or delete that version so Odoo reverts to the default template.


Finally, restart Odoo or redeploy your branch to clear the QWeb cache. The problem should disappear once the faulty XML is fixed or removed, and your surveys will function normally again.
