Is there an official Odoo tool to support migration and transformation of accounting data such as already paid invoices and bills from other accounting software to Odoo?
It seems with the already available import functionality there are some limitations as per the data you can import such as invoice lines for the case of invoices can't be explicitly imported.
I think migrating the entire invoice history is quite involved. For example, if your invoices are for storable products, and the storable products had "automated" inventory valuation - then Odoo would need to create COGS entries for those items and associated entries into interim inventory accounts.
We normally suggest adding just "open" invoices - to build up the AR (and similar with AP) balances and allow payments to be applied to specific invoice records. In most cases it also makes sense to not even "itemize" those invoices - just have a generic product that routes to a "migration" account and have a total logged against it.
We have done full history migrations for a few customers (like orders, deliveries, invoices, payments, with all correct lines), but that's pretty much hundreds of hours of work to map, clean, import, etc.
