Hi,

I am customizing Odoo and I encountered the following issue.

I will give the client (hereafter HE) an Excel file, there he will choose a currency (let's say USD instead of INR as default one)

So, based on this entry (which I need to read) I have to change the default currency from INR to USD.

I know I can do it via Settings>>Accounting>>Default company currency   but I have to update database, so is there any way I can modify the database by some query?

Hi Hilar,

thanks for the answer!

This works perfectly for changing the company's default currency, but seems like sales, purchases, etc. are totally linked differently because there still the currency it is unchanged unfortunately.

First, find active currencies;

select id, name from res_currency where active IS True


Next, update company currency by choosing of the currency id from the output.

update res_company set currency_id = 2 where id = 1 /*choose the company*/
