Hello,

I am using Version 8.0 Community.

Here is the issue I'm having. I am exporting my BOM to an Excel Spreadsheet.
In the exported *.xls file, the cells do not contain any relevant information from the BOMs I'm trying to export.
No names, values or anything.

Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:
-Clicked on "Manufacturing" on top of page.
-Under "Products", clicked on "Bill of Materials"
-Selected all BOM in list.
-Clicked on "More" Button near top, middle of page.
-Clicked on "Export"
-For testing purposes, double-clicked on all available Fields to Export -Clicked on "Export to File".
-Saved file locally for content/cell inspection

Here is the current behavior that I observe:
Upon opening the exported *.xls file, I inspected all of the cell contents.
*ALL* of the cells contain "__export__.mrp_bom_XX", where XX is some line number

My expected behavior in this case:
I expect to see the relevant field names and relevant associated values.
This however is not the case!

Any ideas, or is this a bug?

Thank you for any input!

It seems like you're encountering an issue with exporting Bill of Materials (BOM) from Odoo to an Excel spreadsheet. Instead of seeing relevant information from the BOMs, the cells in the exported file contain "export.mrp_bom_XX" where XX represents a line number.

Here's a breakdown of your situation:

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Navigated to "Manufacturing" > "Products" > "Bill of Materials" in Odoo.
  2. Selected all BOMs in the list.
  3. Clicked on "More" > "Export".
  4. Double-clicked on all available fields to export.
  5. Clicked on "Export to File" and saved the file locally.

Current behavior observed:

  • Upon opening the exported file, all cells contain "export.mrp_bom_XX" instead of relevant field names and values from the BOMs.

Expected behavior:

  • Expectation was to see relevant field names and associated values in the exported file, which is not happening.

This does sound like an issue that needs to be addressed. It's possible that there might be a bug in the export functionality or a misconfiguration causing the exported data to be incorrect.

To resolve this, you might want to consider the following steps:

  1. Check if there are any updates available for your Odoo version. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes that might address this issue.
  2. Review the export configuration settings to ensure that the correct fields are being exported.
  3. Look for any community forums or support channels specific to Odoo where users might have encountered similar issues and found solutions.
  4. If you can't find a solution, consider reaching out to Odoo support or consulting with a developer who has experience with Odoo to help diagnose and fix the problem.

Addressing this issue will ensure that you can export BOMs accurately and efficiently from Odoo to Excel for your manufacturing processes.

else you can try Auto BOM through Excel
