Setting up a restaurant for myself


Current issue: It not clear how to setup a simple auto-deduction of components used in the bill of materials of a product, when the product is sold in POS.


Example: 
Product 1: egg <-- 20 available in warehouse 1
Product 2: bun <-- 10 available in warehouse 1
Product 3: Egg sandwich  <-- Bill of Material: 2 eggs and 1 bun

When i sell one unit of Egg sandwich, i expect 2 eggs and 1 bun to be automatically deducted from inventory

I have looked at routes, MTO option etc.. but not very clear. Pls share if there is text or video that explains this clearly.

The 'kit' option was easier to manage for a restaurant type scenario.

To automatically deduct components from a Bill of Materials (BOM) when selling a product in Odoo POS, configure your products correctly. Set "Egg" and "Bun" as "Storable Products" with accurate inventory levels. Create "Egg Sandwich" as a "Storable Product" with a "Manufacture" BOM type, specifying the required quantities of "Egg" and "Bun." Ensure "Automatically Create Manufacturing Orders" is enabled in Inventory settings.

When an "Egg Sandwich" is sold in POS, Odoo automatically creates a Manufacturing Order (MO) in the background. Upon marking the MO as done, Odoo deducts the specified quantities of "Egg" and "Bun" from your warehouse inventory. The POS sells the finished product, and the inventory adjustments occur through the manufacturing process. Refer to Odoo's Manufacturing and Inventory documentation for detailed guidance and troubleshooting.

Have you tried defining the BoM as a kit? That should consume the ingredients.
