In Odoo i can create quotation in quotation menu but we can also create quotation in opprtunity for better organisation. Problem is there are often people who create quotation outside opportunity and i have not found the ability to attach / link a existing quote to an opportunity.

You can see an expanded view of the User Interface when you activate Developer Mode.
The Opportunity can then be seen/set via the field shown on the Other Information tab, under the Reporting section:

Hi, I've also been struggling with the problem of linking opportunities to quotations so thanks for that. However, we are still using ver 8 and I just cannot see where you're setting this option. Any help would be welcome.
In version 8, the field is a text field called SOURCE DOCUMENT on that same tab.

Why must enter developer mode to have access to this feature ... ?
I think this makes sense in a large, managed sales environment. It is up to the sales manager to decide if an existing quotation can be assigned to a salesperson. Otherwise some salespeople might just scoop up existing quotations made by someone else (?).
If this is actually the official reason, then it might be good if the person with "Sales Manager" permissions had the ability to do this without Developer Mode.
