Fabrice Costa was born in Paris, France, in 1975. he lived in Argentina for more than 30 years. He is a more than 15 years experienced developer, software consultant, and a digital artist. As one of the founders of Moldeo Interactive, a South America based company aiming to develop open source interactive software to help all kind of projects, he developed Moldeo, an interactive audiovisual platform software. Odoo became the backbone of the company administration and is now of the most demanded erp in south america. Fabrice and his team have been working with Odoo for over five years and have been developing different modules such as MercadoLibre Connector, MercadoPago Connector and a mobile client for Odoo.
GeoEcon is a website data portal for Geographic and Economic Industrial Reports in South America. It was developed by Moldeo Interactive with Odoo, in collaboration with the scientific foundation (Fundación Observatorio Pymes ) and EULAC (The European Union – Latin America and Caribbean Foundation)
Integrating geographic data with portal access became one of the most challenging and interesting projects we’ve developed in the last years with Odoo.
For over 4 years a team of software engineers, data scientists and designers worked together. GeoEcon is a fundamental tool for regional economic investment and analysis in developing countries.
To share and make smart use of all the statistical data, the project was split into several modules. We will describe the main features we’ve developed in those modules:
1) OpenLayers Module:
Adding OpenLayers support, a geographical and data visualization map platform. The module includes other tools we will describe, such as D3.js, a well-known data visualization tool.
2) Custom Portal Module:
A portal workspace for user report customization. Creating and sharing maps with this module.
3) Snippets Module:
How to integrate snippets with our GeoEcon reports. Displaying user map previews and reports easily in your Odoo Website.
4) Partners geolocation and segmentation module:
How to geolocate your partners into map reports, and using partner categories for statistical segmentation.
