In V17, I have my business bank account linked to auto-fetch transactions.

I have my business credit card linked to auto-fetch transactions.

My bank autopays off the credit card at the end of each statement period. When the bank account pays off the credit card, my Bank Journal creates an entry that Credits the Bank Account and Debits Bank Suspense.

My Credit Card Journal creates an entry that Debits my Credit Card account and Credits the Bank Suspense account.

If I change the Bank Suspense account on the Bank Journal Entry to Credit Card, then the Credit Card account shows 2 payments and is double counted on the general ledger.

To fix this, I just deleted the Credit Card Journal entries that were generated by Autopay and used the Bank Journal entries to Credit the Bank Account and Debit the Credit Card account. However, this causes my Credit Card Journal to not have any of the credit card payment transactions and thus indicates massive amounts of debt on the credit card.

How do I get the auto-pay journal entries to indicate money transfer from the Bank to the Credit Card so that the Bank Journal can be credited cash, the Credit Card Journal can be debited cash, and the general ledger only shows 1 transaction.

I tried reading through the documentation and watching lots of videos but couldn't figure it out. Thanks!

After some more discussions with ChatGPT, I have decided to correct this issue with the Liquidity Transfer account. (this is likely due to an accounting knowledge gap on my part.) I intend to Debit the Liquidity Transfer account with the Bank Journal Entry and Credit the Liquidity Transfer Account with the Credit Card Journal Entry, so it will just act as the middleman.

I hope this helps someone else struggling with the same thing in the future!
