I think you are not able create company using signup facility because signup facility is basically used for user. Companies are not more then 2-5 or few so companies are created from backend so.. 

For that you have to develop feature to create company instead of user.

this feature is quite difficult, so you can do like, when user created from signup, then you can set that user's related partner as company instead of individual and use as company data.

But if you want to create company then you have to develop this feature.
