Invoiced items not removed from on-hand inventory

Question

I'm new.
I created a couple of invoices manually for items that we sold, but the items were not removed from the on-hand inventory.
However, when I created orders and then invoiced them, those items were removed from inventory.

I'd like to be able to keep it simple and just create invoices when possible, but I need the items removed from inventory. How can I do this?

Only a Delivery Order removes items from Inventory. A Sales Order creates a Delivery Order. You should sell, deliver then Invoice.
