Hi,
Not sure what exactly you are looking for, if you are looking how to add the assignment of student by themselves, you can add a binary field to add the assignment/attachment, also if necessary you can add workflow and buttons to control it, like student can press the button once they submitted.

You can ask your functional queries of the custom module to its authors or you can go through the description provided by the author and see whether there is any hints
