By default, when we search for something in Odoo, the search results are collapsed and you have to click on each '▶' in the search autocomplete to expand the results. Is there any way to show them expanded by default?

There is a module from Empiro Technologies that serves this very purpose:

We've added groupby exapnd feature on Odoo Apps.

you can from ' Edit SearchView' after activating developer mode, rewrite the search items such below and remove the other


                    <field name="ean13" string="EAN13" filter_domain="[('ean13','=',self)]"/>

                    <field name="default_code" string="SKU" filter_domain="[('default_code','=',self)]"/>

                    <field name="name" string="Product" filter_domain="[('name','ilike',self)]"/>

                    <separator/>

                    <filter string="Arabic Books" icon="terp-accessories-archiver" domain="[('categ_id','=','All')]"/>

                    <filter string="English Books" icon="terp-accessories-archiver" domain="[('categ_id','=','English Books')]"/>
