I was stupid enough to import some company contacts into Odoo along with linked individual, with Street/Town address lines specified but with the Country Address blank. The Map view placed them somewhere in Norway instead of New Zealand!

I've added the country in the Company contact, which automatically updates the addresses for the linked individual contacts however in map view, the company now shows correctly placed in New Zealand however the individuals still show in Norway.

Is there some way to force Odoo to "refresh" the address location of the individuals?

I tried your suggestions, but no luck. My contact at Odoo has said this is likely a bug so I submitted a support ticket, here is the solution they provided:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Odoo Support.

I understand that you are encountering an issue with a couple of contacts that are not properly located on the map view. After further investigation, I was able to resolve the location issue.

In order to resolve this issue, I removed the parent company on the contact. I made sure that the address information was fully removed. I then readded the parent company which imports the address. Once I did this, I was able to see the contact now located in New Zealand.

This solved the issue for me.

To refresh the address location of the individual contacts in Odoo, you can try the following:

  1. Manually update the address for each individual contact, ensuring the country field is correctly filled.
  2. Recompute their geolocation by opening each individual contact, saving the record again, and allowing Odoo to update the map view location.
  3. If you have many contacts, you may want to update them in bulk using an import, ensuring the country field is correctly populated for each.

This should fix the map view placement issue for the individuals.
