Not so much support in Odoo for the planning in manufacturing. You have the detailed planning in Gant diagram. Either by workcenter or by product. But is for work center capacity, after the work order has been created.

There is what they call MPS - Master product schedule, where you can input your forecast on a finish product. But it only give you production qty. You can create production orders directly from that interface. And you can look at it by month, week or day. But I do not find it usefull at all.

I agree with you. But:

Because I want to use that to create long-term planning/ business planning and detail planning/ production execution based on it?

No i don't have any solution. You can play with the MPS and the planning for work center and see what you get out of it.

One remark: I worked with SAP R/3 internally in a multinational manufacturing business. For long term planning, I have not seen any use of the ERP system for capacity planning. Only the operational "day to day" was use in ERP.

Almost all planning was either in an external specialized planning system or Excel.

For material planning, Odoo is also lacking functionality.

Ok. I agree about that.

But in some document, I see they call Material Requirements Planning as MRP 1 and use like Odoo MPS. But I cannot find any solution to create planning in long-term.

For example, I want to use MPS to collection Sales planning per month and recogn it on MPS demand forecast. Then, I launch for each components to create PO to supply for the forecast.

The last, I will allocate it in specific MO that are automated create by specific SO.

Do you think it possible and suitable???
