What is the best way for Odoo to easily report on customer-specific inventory for contractual reasons? I could always create a new warehouse but that has its inherent issues. Is there a way to create a view called "allocated stock" to in effect, ringfence the items and provide easy reporting?

For contractual reasons, the best way for Odoo to report on inventory that is specific to a customer would be to make a separate model and use filters to divide the inventory by customer. You could make a custom view with filters that show how much stock is set aside for each customer, and then it would be easy to report on that information. This would be a better way to do things than to build a new warehouse for each customer.
