Hi, I am part of a metal fabrication company and I've been running into some issues trying to get Odoo setup for our shop. We utilize raw sheet metal to nest out parts. These parts are cut and then may need other operations (bending/powder coating/etc.). How can I best manage BOMs/MOs for the individual parts while also consuming whole sheets from inventory when cutting a nest?

"some issues" - what does that mean?

最佳答案

Create a BOM for the Nest
Treat the full sheet and all parts cut from it as one BOM. Use the sheet metal as the main material.

Use By-Products
Add the individual cut parts as by-products, so producing one nest uses 1 sheet and gives you all the parts.

Track Operations
For each part (like brackets or panels), create routing steps for bending, welding, powder coating, etc.

Inventory
Track full sheets in inventory. After cutting, Odoo moves the parts into stock automatically.

Optional - Sub MOs
If parts go through different processes, you can create separate MOs for each one after cutting.
