If you click on the name of almost any user (including me) in odoo forum you will get a message that:
This profile is private!
Also if you click 'People' you will get only one page of users where you would recently many many changes.
What caused this change recently ?
It is said that on 19/08/2014 the odoo website would be updated. So it seems that with this update, the changes of this commit were applied. Here is the commit message:
[IMP] website_forum: added management and support of private profile (unpublished partners).
A related question that follows is How can you make your profile public again in odoo forum? Why default is private?
We just updated the website, profiles are public again. Sorry for the issues.

Fabien, it seems that new users to the odoo.com website are being set to private when they are created. Here is an example: https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/user/362355
