About VeriFactu and FACe
FACe is Spain's official platform for sending and receiving electronic invoices to public administrations (B2G). B2B and B2C eInvoicing and VeriFactu compliance will become mandatory. While other solutions may charge for integration or compliance, Odoo provides free access to send invoices and support requirements.
Why is it important?
Spain's government, like other European governments, has implemented a quickly approaching deadline that requires businesses to use a FACe and VeriFactu when sending their invoices.
Spanish businesses are required to send their invoices through the FACe and VeriFactu as of: 1 September 2026

What are FACe and VeriFactu?
The FACe (Punto General de Entrada de Facturas Electrónicas) is Spain’s official government platform for electronic invoicing to public administrations. Managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, FACe serves as the centralized gateway for sending e-invoices from businesses to the public sector, using the mandatory Facturae format. In parallel, VeriFactu is a framework introduced by the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) to ensure invoice traceability and prevent fraud. It requires businesses to use certified invoicing software that generates tamper-proof invoices and can optionally transmit them in real time to AEAT. While FACe is already mandatory for B2G transactions, Veri*factu will soon become compulsory for many B2B and B2C operations under Spain’s anti-fraud regulations.
Am I required to use FACe and VeriFactu?
Spain has made electronic invoicing through the FACe platform mandatory for all Business-to-Government (B2G) transactions. Businesses issuing invoices to public administrations must use the Facturae format and submit them via FACe to ensure legal validity. In addition, Spain is introducing new requirements under the VeriFactu framework, which will soon make real-time, tamper-proof invoicing mandatory for many Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) transactions. These measures are part of Spain’s efforts to fight tax fraud and align with the EU’s VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) initiative. VeriFactu-compliant systems must securely generate invoices and may transmit them directly to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT). (More information available aici)
How much does a FACe and VeriFactu access cost?
Odoo provides free integration with FACe, allowing users to send electronic invoices to Spanish public administrations at no extra cost. Other FACe access points or integration providers may charge setup fees, per-invoice costs, or subscription-based pricing. As for Veri*factu, compliance requires the use of certified invoicing software, which can involve licensing or maintenance costs depending on the provider.
