I had an asset in June 2024 that depreciated monthly with a straight line method with no prorata but the Depreciation Board starts with January 2024

How can I solve this to start to compute depreciation at the end of June

I don't want to start depreciating at the start of the year.

I want to start depreciating at the end of the month in which I purchased the asset.

No Prorata always starts depreciation at the start of the year.

If you want to start in June 2024, you should select:

  • Constant Periods (same amount depreciated each month)

OR

  • Based on days per period (higher in months with more days)

Your Prorata Date should also be in June:

  • June 1st if you want a full month of depreciation calculated on June 30th.

OR

  • The date your asset went into service if you want a partial month of deprecation on June 30th.
