I run a small manufacturing business, and we’re currently expanding a bit and starting to implement an accounting/inventory system from scratch.

At the moment, everything is tracked in Excel — we’ve built a set of connected sheets with formulas that depend on each other (for materials, expenses, production, etc.).


I have a few questions:


  1. Is it possible to migrate such a spreadsheet into Odoo, and will it work correctly there?
  2. I’d like to add barcoding, and also set up automatic creation of material write-off and reservation documents (for cases when material is already allocated for production but not yet consumed).
  3. Where is the best place to find freelancers for this kind of setup, and what’s the usual price range for Odoo specialists? For example request like a this one. 
  4. Can Odoo inventory be synchronized with QuickBooks accounting?
  5. Is it possible to automatically generate material purchase orders in Odoo based on current stock levels?

Any tips or experience would be really appreciated!
