Fore items that are sold as individual units these 2 seem to have identical functionality. Is there any subtle differences I am missing?

Goods can be sold in any quantity between 0 and 1 as well, if your UoM allows to do so. I.e. 0.5m of a steel bar, a sixth of a six-pack etc. In that case, a price from 1 will not be applicable, one starting from 0 will.

Hi,

Yes, there is a subtle but important difference between a minimum quantity of 0 and a minimum quantity of 1 in Odoo, especially when used in price lists, reordering rules, or procurement rules.

A minimum quantity of 1 explicitly means that the rule (such as a price discount or reorder) only applies when at least 1 unit is involved, typically to avoid applying rules to zero or invalid quantities. In contrast, a minimum quantity of 0 allows the rule to apply even if the requested quantity is zero, which might not make practical sense in most sales or inventory contexts. For individual-unit items, they may seem to behave the same in many cases (since selling 0 units is rare), but setting the minimum to 1 is safer and more semantically accurate—it ensures the rule or price is applied only when an actual sale or stock movement is intended. Using 0 could unintentionally trigger a rule during edge cases like previewing prices or processing drafts with zero quantities.

Hope it helps.

Are you sure about that?
