Can someone advise as to the use of the Stock Journal? in current practice of accounting

To create a double entry accounting of the stock you receive, consume, produce and ship.
It is a method of keeping track inventory, with checks similar to the checks used in accounting.
Thanks; but under which circumstances do we need to use such a journal, considering that all products operatins are automated;? Or said differently: does this journal automatically records all amounts related to stock received/consumed/produced/shipped? in my case this journal is having NO ENTRY!
yes, automatically. maybe you did not configure the stock journal properly. Go to Accounting > Configuration > Journals > Journals if you are using v7.
how to activate it? because when i buy or sell products, the account in stock journal is doesn't moved.
