The following output is created:

Note that the string "test" is outside of the link tag, not inside. This does not happen if I rename the tag to "url", or any other string.
Any hint on how to prevent that?

Sorry, the forum consistently destroys my formatting and I don't know how to fix it. I also am not permitted to post a screenshot of it, urgh.
