I've recently started entering products into Odoo in preparation for my company's transition to Odoo. I am using the import feature and haven't been able to figure out what the sequence field in the spreadsheet means. Any help is much appreciated.

I don't think you need to set the sequence field. It's displayed as a "handle" in the List View, but not used to sequence the list of products anywhere that I can find!
It is used to sort products in the Master Production Schedule.
