My Manufacturing order is stuck with "You need to supply a lot/serial number. "

What happened is this:

I have product A with some stock available. Then I received more of it for a different price so I enabled lot tracking for the product and created a new Lot for the new batch. I cannot enter Lot for already existing stock so right now I have some old stock without Lot assigned and some with lot.

Now this product is an ingredient in manufacturing and I want it to use the old batch without lot but it wouldn't let me.

Either I have to assign lot to the old batch somehow or to be able to process the MO with "empty" lot for that product

This works in Version 11 so you can try it in Version 10:

1. Create the Lot Number via Master Data --> Lot Serial Numbers

2. Create an Inventory Adjustment that removes the units WITHOUT a Lot from Stock, and brings them back in WITH a Lot Number:

You will now have five units in Stock, each with the Lot Number you created:

Note: If Odoo is configured to track real-time Inventory costs, check that the current cost of the product matches the cost you originally brought the product in at before making the adjustment.

Good idea and excellent explanation, thank you. I will accept it as the right answer even though I would say it is a workaround and a lack in the system that lets you end up with stock partially marked with lot while not allowing you to select empty lot in stock moves.
