Hello, my partner and I are making a website with Odoo, it is a municipality. We want only certain users who enter the website to be able to edit news, events or appointments but not allow the administrator to modify the base of the website, only small permissions such as creating, editing, uploading, etc. We don't know how to do it, it would be very kind of you if you could help us.

We are using the 17.1 version

thanks!

Hi,

In Odoo, you can manage user permissions and access control through the built-in user roles and access rights settings. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up permissions:

  1. Create User Roles: Go to the Settings and navigate to the Users and Companies menu. Click on "Groups" to view existing user groups and create new ones if needed.
    • Create specific user roles such as "News Editor", "Events Editor", and "Appointments Editor".
  2. Assign Access Rights: Assign appropriate access rights to each group. Define permissions for creating, editing, deleting, and publishing news, events, and appointments. Also, limit access to only the necessary modules and features required for website content management.
  3. Restrict Administrator Permissions: Limit the administrator's permissions to system configuration and administration tasks, rather than content management.

After configuring user roles and access rights, test the permissions by logging in with different user accounts.

Please let me know if my answer will help you.....

you can assign rights to the users from  Settings---> Technical --> Access Rights.
