Our restaurant has different menu every day,
a) How can we can use odoo ecommerce for scheduling orders for products that are available every day
b) How can we handle orders for dishes that are available only one day (the daily menu is different every day )

ex if we have dish A on monday , b on Tuesday, C on Wednesday, and D every day: we want a customer to be able to see a weekly menu and order on monday dish C and D to be delivered on wednesday?

To clarify is the question related to customer ordering process.. ie, how the customer can identify product (dishes) and associate to weekday, maybe can view but not order if the product is not dish of the day etc
Or is it for the order fulfilment teams to be able to identify when the delivery order needs to be scheduled for?

Thanks for your response.

i am trying to figure out how the customer can order or (pre-order before a certain date) dishes that are available only certain dates. E.g if we have a menu like this for NEXT week

MONDAY DISH A + DISH B + DISH K

TUESDAY DISH c + DISH d + DISH K

the customer should be able to see every day only available dishes and make an order.

i imagine that my workflow should be login, see available menu per day and order only what is available that day

eg  preorder today an order for tuesday 2 dish c and 1 dish k and choose time of delivery

I thing that a solution will be put an availability date tag or field in product's and then create daily catalog with available dishes and connect the delivery with the exact date.

Any suggestions welcome, i hope i made it more clear

thank you very much for trying to help me!

tags maybe is one solution, but is not the best!

I was wondering if i could create another table with the dates and all the available products per day and use this to display a daily menu in ecommerce. This will help me keep a history of when every meal was available (previous dates)

it will be like a daily inventory per shop

Any thoughts about that?

I like this idea: I have a similar problem that I am trying to solve. Each week I offer a range of products which are new each week but each week has the same type of products - a bread, a tart, a dip, a pasta sauce etc. I was considering starting a new model called weekly dishes (for you it would be daily) showing the dishes that are available for that week. I wonder if this could be controlled by a date and time field that provides a "deadline" for ordering - after that time those products cannot then be ordered.

I would believe it should be possible with customizations.

A few resources that could be added to the product to identify and associate weekday .. 1. ecommerce category 2. tags 3. Attributes 4. Ribbons

To be able to order from a specific days' menu while being able to view other days menu.

1. You could use inventory to update On hand Qty on a daily basis for the day's menu and set inventory defaults to stop selling

2. Is_published field could be utilized to create daily menu.

Could enable 'Extra step during checkout' option and have a date time field, for customer to provide delivery preferences for pre-order. You might need to validate if the date corresponds to menu though.

Few ideas, hope it helps to get started.
