Make Account Receivable and Payable filed optional when creating contact

Question

How can I make Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable fields optional?

I have customers and they are all set to receivables but they don't have any payable account and we won't be purchasing from them in the future. But Odoo requires you to have both AR and AP when creating a contact.

How can I make this field optional and what effect will it have in Accounting if we don't assign one of them?

There is no cost to having a payable account.
It will require customization (a cost) to remove the requirement to have a payable account.
Having a payable account for customers who will never use it has not proven to be a problem to hundreds of thousands of Users so perhaps it isn't a real problem but a fear that there will be a problem?
