Companies give employees some assets and they are expected to return them at the end of their service, or at a specific time.

For example the company can give a network engineer some expensive tools and the company would like to track these tools.


I thought about using inventory and adding a location for assets, but how its valuation will be? Should I make a category for these assets and make the valuation manual?


Any ideas would help.

Hello,

As you mentioned, create a new location and do the internal transfer while giving the asset to the Employee. And for the valuation, you can track the value of the assets by going to Inventory-> Reporting-> Inventory Report / Group by Location. So, you will get the valuation of the products/assets by the locations also. Remember, the valuation will show according to the settings in the Product Category of the Assets.
