Hi,

I do the accounting for my husbands company and was wondering how to end a trial. Ik I "test" an app to see it's function, can I actually remove the app after so that I am able to keep using that database. I mean it had the full accounting for all the years so it is imperative that we don't loose the account!


So if my trial says 5 days remaining, can I simply delete the app I tested and be done with it?

Hi,

It is indeed only Odoo support that can avoid the database from removing itself.

I have spoken with them and it has been sorted.

You should contact Odoo support. I assume you mean that you have one free app and want to continue using it.

  1. Uninstall the Trial App:
    • Go to Apps > Apps in Odoo.
    • Search for the app you are trialing.
    • Click on the app, and then click the Uninstall button.
    • Confirm the uninstallation when prompted.
    Uninstalling the app will remove its functionality but will not affect your existing data, including your accounting records.
  2. Check Your Database:
    • After uninstalling the app, verify that your accounting data and other critical records are still intact.
    • Navigate to your accounting modules (e.g., Invoicing, Accounting) and ensure everything is functioning as expected.
  3. Expiration of the Trial:
    • If the trial period expires (e.g., after 5 days), Odoo will automatically restrict access to the trial app. However, your database and its data will remain unaffected.
    • You can continue using Odoo for other functionalities, such as accounting, even after the trial ends

Thanks for updating your answer. I still believe you will need to contact Odoo to get them to remove the warning that your database will expire in 5 days.
