To achieve this, I have created 2 ribbons: 1 for "available" and 1 for "out of stock". Then you will need Studio. Navigate to your product list and click the Studio icon at the top. Select the "Automation" menu. Click "new" to create a new automation. Put this. Then create a similar rule for Available. 

Note: it's not perfect. You might have 1 quantity on hand and 1 outgoing (copy ordered by a customer but not yet delivered). Would still show as Available.

You can configure the product profile, like what ribbon should display in website screen for that particular product

Also you can enter the message which you want to show for the out-of-stock products

But you need to configure it for the products which has 0 qty. If you want to show the out-of-stock ribbon for the 0 qty products automatically, you need to customise the module, 

like add a boolean field as "Is out of stock", system need to check the on-hand qty, when it is less than or equal to 0, "Is out of stock" should gets enabled and it should show the ribbon as "out of stock" automatically in website screen
