Odoo built a special black box where all the invoices go to feed the AI algorithm that was created. 

Your scanned documents are converted with an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine before being processed by the AI algorithm.

Since we manage the special black box, we can improve the quality of the service in between versions of Odoo, in fact we upgrade it WEEKLY based on the Invoice training from the prior week.

As users modify the results of scanned documents in Odoo, our teams in review the bill manually and develop a tailored template. This template allows our AI system to recognize the document’s layout and grab the appropriate data. This way, all future invoices issued by the same Vendor will be processed perfectly. 

In Europe, we also look for embedded metadata: swiss invoices barcodes, Factur-X for french invoices, etc. That also helps improve the accuracy. 

Eventually, our Users will upload at least one bill from every Vendor in the world, so we will be able to offer a 100% success rate. This will take some time, so please spread the word about how awesome Odoo is if you prefer waiting less time.

Improvements are made available weekly to users all at the same - to all supported versions of Odoo - so v13, v14 and v15 right now - and every week we are getting more and more invoices sent as more and more users try and/or implement the service.
