My problem is if write anything with special Turkish characters it can be shown in forms view or edits as in real encoding. but if you want to print it any invoice or any purchase order etc. Pdf output showing special Turkish characters as blackboxes. So i am suspicous about encoding settings of pdf main egine. How can i fix codec?

Host pc operating system is windows xp pro Turkish so all required fonts are in windows library.

Merhabalar Bora Bey, PDFlerdeki türkçe karakter sorununu font yükleyerek çözebilirsiniz. bunun için size DejavuSans isimli fontlardan yüklemenizi tavsiye ederiz. Burdan indirip yükleyebilirsiniz: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/DejaVu-Sans Mehmet Demirel UNIBRAVO YAZILIM

This problem happens when your character is not supported by fonts used in standard OpenERP.

We use this module by shine-it for printing Japanese in PDF (you update the mapping from standard OE fonts to the fonts you would like to use):

https://github.com/shine-it/oecn_base_fonts

I believe this one by Elico Corp also does the job but we haven't tried it yet:

We have raised this to OpenERP s.a. and I believe they are trying to incorporate one of these as a certified module.

Hello Yoshi, I'm trying to have the PDF print Japanese too. I'm using OpenERP 7 on a Virtual BitNami stack Ubuntu 12.04. I have tried following the instructions on the github link you provided above, but the option "2) Click the link on the line of 'Configure fonts mapping for pdf report' (Settings/ Configuration/ General Settings/)" Is not displayed on my install, do I need to turn on a special setting such as I did to display the Technical menu?
