Yes, Odoo supports PowerPoint files.When tried with .pptx, .txt and .odp files it seems like below.

But the  .pdf file is worked with E-learning Module.I think you should try after changing the file format into .pdf.

I have been trying to do the same thing. You can upload a PowerPoint presentation in the tab of Additional Resources, however it can't be viewed, just downloaded. I don't want to add it as a pdf because I have animations and videos in the presentation.

I think one only option is to export it as a video (.wmv or .mp4) or create a recording using the "Record" option in the Slide Show tab in Powerpoint to add it as a video. However, you can't upload a video, Odoo only accepts youtube video links. You will need to upload it to youtube (you can do it private), and then add the link. Hope it helps.
