I part out computers and I'm trying to figure out what it looks like, in Odoo, to track a purchase of (ex) 10 computers, and the parts I would put into inventory from those computers, as well as average the cost.

Serial numbers would be the tracking for computers. Setting on product master. And every computer will have a unique serial number.  Of course you can do the same for parts. If you assemble a computer using parts with serial numbers, you have the full tracking.

Costing method is set on Product category: Std cost, Average cost or FIFO cost.
