I’m looking to custom add the available fields in the contact list. In addition to the standard ones there. So when I import my current contacts the important other data will be existing in the record too. How can this be done?

Yes you can add any fields you want in contact list, if you using enterprise you can use odoo studio, otherwise you will have to create a custom module
