Hi Members,
I'm facing a significant issue in the Production Module (Odoo 18 SaaS). I need to enter older production order transactions using their original dates, but the system is forcing all entries to be recorded with the current date.
Before proceeding, I’d like to understand the rationale behind this behavior. If, for example, I have two-weeks delay in entering transactions, the system will still assign today’s date, which results in inaccurate timelines and disrupts coordination between Inventory, Manufacturing, and Finance. In practical terms, it's not acceptable for transactions from November to appear as if they were submitted in December.
On the other hand, neither Finance, Supply Chain, nor Production teams can accept this illogical limitation, especially since the ability to backdate transactions should be a standard feature. In real SME's business environments, delays are common—whether due to staff absences or other operational reasons—and it’s not always possible to stay perfectly aligned with daily transactions.
