Dear Community,

I’m facing a challenge regarding the use of barcodes with encoded prices in Odoo V15 and how aliases are handled at the POS.

Here is the setup:

• ProductA (in Product Template)

Price: 5.50

Barcode: 231234500000 (Format: 23NNNNN00000)

→ This barcode is irrelevant in sales orders and on the webshop, but the price is.

• ProductA.Batch1 (physical product with label at the POS)

Price: 7.50

Barcode: 231234500750

→ Works perfectly at the POS – when scanned, it adds the product to the order with the correct price.

• ProductA.Batch2 (physical product with label at the POS)

Price: 9.50

Barcode: 231234500950

→ Also works perfectly when scanned at the POS.

• ProductA.Batch0 (physical product with label at the POS)

Price: 5.50

Barcode on the label: 12345

→ This barcode should alias to 231234500550, which corresponds to the correct price (5.50). However, scanning 12345at the POS leads to an error: “Nothing found for barcode 12345.”

I’m wondering: could this be due to the way barcode nomenclature rules are applied – possibly in a specific order of priority?

Has anyone experienced similar issues or knows how to configure barcode aliases in this context so that the alias barcode is correctly recognized and resolved at the POS?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated – thank you in advance!
