I wonder about possibilities to use Odoo for an central control (heating, lighting, access, TV-information, energy, security, etc.) in an hotel. Similar to smart home control.

In my imagination it could work with Odoo-IoT.

Have anybody information about such solutions?

Do you buy a truck if you need a lawnmower?

@Ermin Trevisan: Not really a qualified answer. :-( Maybe it´s based on lack of imagination or knowledge in the mentioned field. You´re from Switzerland and I assume you´re able to speak German. Here is a Website in this language to enlighten you a little bit:

https://www.smarthouse-pro.de/gebaeudeautomation/haussteuerung/gebaeudeautomation-in-einem-5-sterne-designhotel.141922.html

I made a comment, not an answer. And I'm well aware of such controls since years. But I can't see the relationship with an ERP/Business software such as Odoo.

If you read the content of the link I gave carefully, you will recognize, that there is mentioned a connection between the central control AND the hotel booking & and management software.

ODOO is using the slogan "One need, one app" and that is exactly the point for my desire in finding a solution with ODOO!

For both areas are a lot of same data necessary and a connection would avoid data redundancy. From costs side makes operating a 2nd system additional no sense.

Do you find a solution??

@Mario Vargas: Unfortunately not. :-(

Hello,

Yes you can use the IoT Box or other micro controller like Arduino to connect your hotel to Odoo.

By MQTT protocol or other.

But it is a big implementation because you need create driver to use each specific device with IoT.

And you need to create module to record, monitoring and use all of these data.

Maybe IoT Box is overkill in this situation.

If you only want control your hotel from one side why not use 'home assistant' ?

Or you want use some device in your business ?

Hello @admin IOS
We are working on developing a similar solution and onboarding smart device manufacturers for it. We would love to collaborate if you are still searching or have found a solution.

Alternatively, you can make a custom App and use Pyserial and PyFirmata to command an Arduino board to handle the switching! The Arduino board would kinda replace the "IoT Box" but unlike the IoT Box, the Arduino microcontorller typically has many more GPIO pins/controls for a multitude of devices/sensors

Thanks
