Hi,
Migrating your Odoo 17 Community Edition database from Windows to Linux involves several steps. Here’s a general outline of the process:
Backup your database: Always start by creating a backup of your existing database on Windows. This ensures that you have a copy of your data in case anything goes wrong during the migration process.
Install Odoo on your Linux system: You’ll need to have Odoo installed on the Linux system where you want to migrate your database.
Use OpenUpgrade: The Odoo Community Association (OCA) provides an Open Source upgrade path for Odoo called OpenUpgrade. You can use this to migrate your database. Note that you can only upgrade one version at a time.
Get OpenUpgrade code: Clone the OpenUpgrade code from the OCA’s GitHub repository.
Install the latest version of OpenUpgradeLib: Ensure that the latest version of OpenUpgradeLib is installed in your system.
Run migration scripts on the duplicated database: Make a duplicate of the database you want to migrate and run migration scripts on this duplicated database.
Put OpenUpgrade code in Odoo’s directory: Place the OpenUpgrade code in your Odoo’s directory.
Run the Migration command: Open the terminal in the OpenUpgrade folder and run the Migration command.
Hope it helps.
