There is a module from Mentis on Launchpad, part of the OpenERP Project group. It's called product_multiprices. I haven't realy tested it truly but looks like something you might be interested in.
I installed the module product_multiprices on a brand new database with the demo data. I saw no effect, no additional prices in the product. I suspect that this module has a lot of work to do during install and that if it is interrupted mid-install the underlying database would end up damaged.
Use pricelists, you should activate them from Settings > Configuration > Sales.
