hello odoo community

I have products like RAM or CPU that use as a raw material to make a new product (category: parts & raw material  )

and also they use for a user to upgrade user system (category: office property)

how can I distinguish between these two in a purchase order or sale order?

A product can only be assigned to one product category. Product category can not be used for your purpose. So the question back is: Why and what do you want to distinguish? What is the purpose?

I want distinguish: when my user request ram it's for upgrade her system or it's raw material to produce?

now I define two product as RAM with a different name (RAM1 - RAM2)

is there another way?

You can store them in different warehouses and specify the appropriate warehouse on the Sales Order / Purchase Order.

Hi Port Cities Ltd., Chris TRINGHAM Hong Kong

thanks for your reply can you explain more?

you mean that I have just one product (RAM) and control it by pull/push flows?

My suggestion was that you specify the warehouse on the sales order. You can set this as a default or there are some apps that may help you. More discussion here: https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/default-warehouse-in-quotation-155381
