in V7, the integrated messaging system pulls in emails from a connected mailbox. this does not have any filthers that i can see, so how do u delete a mail? assuming its spam and u dont want to keep it?.

The only way to delete an entry in the chatter of a document is by deleting the email in Settings > Technical > Emails > Messages. You cannot do so from the document itself.
Find the note under "Technical", "Email" and "Messages" and delete it there.
