Hi,

I’m using Odoo 19 Website Editor and added a Categories Showcase block (4 images: Sofas, Desk, Drawers, Lamps).

The block is not labeled dynamic, and there’s an option “first block larger or equal size.”

I cannot click or change the images in the editor.

Where are these images stored in Odoo so I can replace them? Is there a way to edit them per block in the frontend?

I already checked the eCommerce Categories section — since this is a brand new installation, it was empty, so I created new categories with images (e.g., Sofas, Tables, Lamps) and tried inserting the Categories Showcase block again afterward. Unfortunately, the images still don’t change.

I also looked through the other modules (Inventory, Sales, Website, etc.) to see if the sample images are stored elsewhere, but I couldn’t find them.

It feels like there’s a small trick or missing link somewhere, because I don’t think Odoo would release a block that can’t have its content managed.

The same issue also appears in the other catalog block — the Banner Catalog block with the title “Explore our new collection” — it uses the same default images (Sofa, Desk, Drawer) that can’t be replaced.

I’ve tested this across several brand-new installations and got the same result every time.

If you have a moment, could you please try it on your end too? It really looks like a stunning new feature — if only we could make it work!

In Odoo 19, the images used in the Categories Showcase block are not editable directly from the Website Editor.

These images are loaded from the eCommerce Categories, which are managed separately from backend product categories.

To change the images, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Website → eCommerce → eCommerce Categories.
  2. Open the category you want to edit (e.g., Sofas, Desks, Drawers, Lamps).
  3. Replace the existing image in the Category Image field.
  4. Save your changes.

Once saved, the updated image will automatically appear in the Categories Showcase block on your website.

You cannot modify these images from the frontend editor because the block fetches them dynamically from the eCommerce Categories configuration.

Summary:

✔ Go to Website → eCommerce → eCommerce Categories

🖼 Edit the Category Image from there

✖ Not editable directly in the Website Editor
