I have a business case where user Merge several RFQ but the new RFQ must show the content of the different merged RFQ, so that supplier know how to package the delivery.

To do that I was thinking of modifying the current RFQ generated PDF using the Office Writer's Report Designer.

My question is :

  1. Considering that there are several type of report engine can Open Office easily fulfil this requirement ? Or other report engine are better for this case. (I am familiar with html/css as well)
  2. Can OpenOffice Report designer access the content of other object : from a RFQ, need to browse line of the different merged RFQ.

It is a nice question. As far as your two questions concern, I have an answer for second question. Yes, it is possible to access the content of other object. But it is important to know how different RFQ are merged with current RFQ. If it is done by creating a field which contains different RFQs, then by browse line you can have that field containing merged RFQs. base_report_designer module helps you to generate desired report.
