What is the purpose of having product attributes?? Is it like attributes such as color,diameter,grammerage, shape etc??

HI,
You can add realted field in pos.order.line object. This related field realted with product object.
Product attributes are usable when product can have different features. Like having window color. It is difficult to create all products variant of window or door having different color, material, size, and form. So you can add attributes to product and then manufacture them as needed or take them from stock. Another example can be car where you can have many options, colors, features etc.
