Hello. I want to track visitors to my website. Leads is checked, and Visits to Leads is also checked and and rules set. I have a credential todo this action too. but when i visit my website new Lead isnt generated. on Website->Visitirs i see visitor, but Lead isnt generated. what can be the problem?

If visitors are being tracked on your website but no leads are generated, even though “Leads” and “Visits to Leads” options are enabled and rules are configured, the issue is usually related to one of the following:

  1. Visit to Lead Rules Conditions
    Please double-check the rules under Website → Configuration → Visit to Lead Rules.
    If the visitor’s URL, UTM parameters, or country do not match any of the defined rules, Odoo will not generate a lead. Make sure at least one rule matches the data of the visitor you are testing with.
  2. Missing Identifying Information
    Odoo requires some identifying information (such as email, phone number, or UTM campaign) to create a lead. If the visitor is anonymous and no data is collected, no lead will be generated.
  3. Leads Feature Not Fully Enabled
    Ensure that the Leads feature is activated in CRM → Configuration → Settings. If only Opportunities are enabled, the system won’t create leads from website visitors.
  4. Existing Visitor Session
    If the visitor is already linked to an existing partner, lead, or opportunity, Odoo will not create a duplicate lead. Please check the visitor record to verify if it is already associated with a lead.
  5. Scheduled Action Not Running
    Lead generation from visitors may depend on the “Lead Generation” scheduled action. Navigate to Settings → Technical → Scheduled Actions and ensure the action is enabled and running without errors.
  6. Website Tracking Code Issue
    If your website uses a custom theme or modified templates, the tracking snippet may not fire properly. Open your browser’s developer tools → Network tab and confirm that the tracking request to /website/visitor is being sent correctly.

Recommendation:

  • Test again using a clean incognito browser session and a URL that exactly matches one of your Visit to Lead Rules.
  • Review the visitor record to confirm whether any rules were applied.
  • Manually trigger the scheduled action if needed.
