I'm currently facing some issues i'd like to have different opinion about them. In my compagny, a service provider had recently deployed an OpenERP 7. There are at most 3 users connected. The server used is a   

• Xeon E5-2609 / 2.4 GHz -
• RAM 4 Go 
• 450Go SAS
• Debian

the issue is that to process a 500 lines order   OpenERP needs ~11 minutes.

•  to confirm the imported order : 3.5 mn
•  check for availability in stock : 1.5 mn
•  validate the order picking :  4.75 mn
•  validate the bill of delivery : 1.5mn

if I sum everything it take about 1.25 second to process one line in the order.  This is the kind of operation we need to do a lot ( multiple time every hour some month) so loosing 10 minutes every times it make OpenERP close to unsuable to us. Our service provide already divised the processing time by 3. all of this looks odd to me.

All i wan't is an opinion, does this numbers look normal to you ?
