I am trying to reset my password. I have clicked on the link to send an email to reset my password but the email does not arrive in my Microsoft Office-based email inbox.  I am a global admin on Microsoft 365 and am able to look at underlying Message Trace capabilities with Exchange Online and the email simply does NOT arrive at the tenant at all.

I still have a cached browser session that is allowing me in to the portal which is good, but I cannot login anywhere else and can't provision my mobile device.  I also checked the cached version of my password within the browser and tried to use that to login and it failed.

Anyone have any ideas. This is really puzzling.

I opened a service ticket and received the following:

As Odoo uses authentication to allow Odoo users to connect with their database (as the super admin) via email login.
As the admin of the database, it will require you to change your password at Odoo.com, please see my screenshot.
Once you have successfully changed your password at Odoo.com, the credentials will be synced with your databases.

I hope this is helpful for someone else in the future. I have requested an improvement to this process so that a database admin user that is trying to reset their password within a database gets an alert to notify them to go back to odoo.com to reset their password. Wasted many hours on this.

A year late, but we have this problem too. Odoo has not helped.

I am having this issue as well. I had an outgoing email server configured and nothing would send at all but once I archive it the emails did start sending again.

Hi,

If you are admin of the odoo instance, make sure that the email has got send from the odoo or doesn't it get failed for some reasons. I believe it get failed due to some reasons, if you are admin check the emails menu from the emails menu under settings -> technical -> emails or you contact the admin of the instance and check with them.

Thanks

I am the admin on the instance. I can go to my user account and toggle between using email or odoo for notifications, but I do not have a menu option settings -> technical -> emails. I have settings -> general settings and then some options there for utilizing alternative mail servers such as Gmail or Outlook but those are turned off. I did toggle my user setting to utilize Odoo rather than email for notifications and attempted to send a password reset but I didn't see a notification anywhere.

Do you have any other thoughts?

enable developer mode from general settings page and you can more menu's also verify that you have configured outgoing mail server in your instance

I can see the Technical Menu now - thanks for that pro-tip.

I don't have any outgoing email servers as it says this: A default outgoing email server is already configured. You should not create an alternative one unless you really want to use a specific external outgoing email server for technical reasons.

Accordingly, I have not configured an outgoing server for my company - yet. I expect I'll do that in the future to have emails going thru my Microsoft 365 environment.

Meanwhile, I was able to go to the Emails option under Settings -> Technical and can see that no emails have been sent out of Odoo since Monday. I did just create a manual email in the interface and it worked, and I received it, so I have no idea why the "Reset Password" link when trying to login via an incognito window is failing. I "should" see a history of that email going out - yes?
